It was announced today that Joni Mitchell and Nelly Furtado will be honoured at the 55th Juno Awards, next March in Hamilton, Ont.
At the newly opened TD Coliseum in Hamilton, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) and CBC announced that Mitchell will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by the National Arts Centre, and Furtado will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
Mitchell, a four-time Juno winner, is being recognized for her trailblazing, decades-long career and her impact on music culture around the world. She was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1981.

Furtado’s induction into the Hall of Fame will celebrate her chart-topping success over the years, her numerous Juno, Grammy and Latin Grammy wins and her impact on the pop landscape since the early 2000s.
Furtado joins recent inductees Sum 41, Maestro Fresh Wes, Nickelback, Deborah Cox and Jann Arden.
The Junos are returning to Hamilton for the first time in a decade, and hometown heroes Arkells will be gracing the stage. Toronto band the Beaches will also be performing. Both bands are Juno mainstays: Arkells have won nine Junos (six for group of the year) since 2010 and the Beaches have won all five awards they've been nominated for since 2018.
“Hamilton has always been a city that lives and breathes music,” said CARAS president and CEO Allan Reid. He continued: “To return here with an incredible lineup that includes Joni Mitchell and Nelly Furtado — two of Canada’s most influential artists — is a fitting way to celebrate our country’s rich musical legacy.”
It was also announced that the Junos and MusiCounts are teaming up for a special industry exchange, connecting 10 music educators with 10 local musicians from Hamilton for a community-building and hands-on learning opportunity.
The 2026 Juno Awards will take place on March 29, at 8 p.m. ET in Hamilton at the TD Coliseum. Tickets go on sale on Nov. 28 at 10 a.m. ET. There is an early-access pre-sale code (CBCMUSIC), which can be used on Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. Buy tickets here.
