Prime Minister Mark Carney and Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre went toe-to-toe in the House of Commons for the first time today as the fall sitting began.There was a loud cheer from the Opposition as Poilievre returned for the first time since the spring election. He and Carney met in the middle of the floor and shook hands before question period began.The sitting started with an equally friendly tone, but the Opposition soon got back to grilling the Liberals about its record on affordability, housing and public safety.This fall sitting is a major test for Carney as he prepares to release his first fall budget.
