Extended oil change intervals – following BMW or doing it sooner?

I've been going back and forth on this ever since I bought my 2017 BMW X5. The computer says I can go 15,000 km between oil changes, and the dealer says the same thing, but every BMW forum I read is full of people saying that's way too long especially in this climate with all the stop and go driving. Some say 8,000 to 10,000 km is safer if you want the engine to last past 150k km. I've been using a high-quality oil service that uses the correct LL-01 approved synthetic, but I'm still paranoid about sludge buildup in the turbocharger lines. For those of you with higher mileage BMWs, are you following the factory interval or changing more often? And have you actually seen any evidence that shorter intervals prevent failures like timing chain guide wear or turbo issues? I don't mind spending extra on oil changes if it genuinely helps, but I also don't want to waste money on overkill. Real world experience appreciated from anyone who's owned a BMW past 200k km. Thanks.
