Where to Farm Zod: Best Locations and Routes in Diablo II: Resurrected–U4GM

When players set out to obtain a Zod rune in Diablo II: Resurrected, the first question is always the same: where should I farm? Since Zod is tied to the highest rune drop tables in the game, only specific high-level areas D2R Items offer realistic chances. While no location guarantees success, some farming routes are significantly more efficient than others due to density, drop tables, and speed of clears.
One of the most popular and efficient farming areas is Lower Kurast in Act 3 Hell difficulty. This zone is famous for its super chests, which are special chests with predetermined drop patterns that can include high-level runes. By repeatedly running the same campfire layouts and opening super chests, players maximize their chances of rolling high rune drops over time. While Zod is still extremely rare, Lower Kurast is one of the few locations where chest-based farming can realistically produce top-tier runes.
Another major farming destination is the Chaos Sanctuary in Act 4 Hell. This area features high monster density, strong elite packs, and Diablo as the final boss. The combination of numerous elite enemies and dense combat zones makes it one of the best all-around farming locations for runes. Since rune drops are tied to kill volume, Chaos Sanctuary runs provide a steady stream of opportunities.
Act 5’s Worldstone Keep and Throne of Destruction are also top-tier farming zones. These areas contain high-level monsters, including the infamous Baal waves, which spawn large groups of enemies at once. The sheer number of kills per run significantly increases the probability of rune drops over time. Baal himself, as a high-level boss, can also drop from top treasure classes, making this route especially attractive for late-game farming.
The Arcane Sanctuary deserves special attention due to its unique monster composition. Ghost-type enemies found here have a higher tendency to drop runes compared to other item types. This makes the area disproportionately valuable for rune farming, even though it may feel slower or more awkward to navigate. Efficient players often incorporate Arcane Sanctuary runs into rotation farming routes specifically for this reason.
Travincal Council runs in Act 3 are another strong option. The Council members are Super Unique monsters with high drop rates and multiple item rolls per kill. They can drop high-level runes, making them one of the most consistent mid-to-high-end farming targets in the game. Many players build entire characters specifically designed to farm Travincal quickly and repeatedly.
Finally, Chaos Sanctuary, Travincal, Lower Kurast, and Worldstone Keep are often combined into rotation-based farming strategies. Instead of focusing on a single area, experienced players cycle through multiple zones to maintain efficiency and reduce fatigue while maximizing drop opportunities.
The key takeaway is that no single location “drops Zod,” but certain cheap D2R Ladder Items areas dramatically increase your chances by maximizing kill speed, elite density, or chest rolls. Success depends on volume, efficiency, and persistence across these optimized farming routes.
